Best States To Own A Motorcycle

Have you ever wondered where the best place to own a motorcycle is? Not based on lowest insurance rates or some other gobbledy-gook that only matters to the bean counters, but on stats that a rider cares about: weather, accidents, and number of bikes stolen each years.

As far as accidents go the five states with the fewest fatal motorcycle accidents are Alaska, North Dakota, Vermont, Delaware, and Rhode Island. The next stats are pretty interesting.  The states that have the warmest average temperatures and the highest amount of days it rains too much to ride sort of coincide.

No matter how you rate your state for motorcycle friendliness, what matters is that you and your bike survive the season unscathed. The best way to do that is to wear your helmet, keep your motorcycle insurance policy up-to-date, and always expect that the other driver doesn’t see you. Enjoy your spring.
