BQR’s Avintia Blusens team has made the switch to Inmotec’s carbon/aluminum chassis for its Spanish rider, Ivan Silva. Leaving behind its previously-used aluminum Suter frame, the team says that the new frame, which is said to be nearly completely made of carbon fiber, will make its debut race at the Spanish GP in Jerez.
Inmotec has been in MotoGP news quite a bit lately. In fact, the Spanish MotoGP group had planned on racing on Inmotec in the 800cc era until it ran out of time getting its bikes ready for the season. More recently, Norton’s MotoGP entry used Inmotec parts at the end of last year.
Yonny Hernandez, BQR’s Avintia Blusens’s second rider, will stay on his FTR frame for the remainder of the season. The team’s CRT motorcycles will continue to be powered by prepped Kawasaki ZX-10R engines.
