The 2012 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC is now on sale at Aprilia dealerships across America. Its base price is $22,999.
First introduced in 2010, the 2011 and 2012 RSV4 models are fitted with Aprilia Performance Ride Control package as standard equipment. This is the exact same electronics package that the motorcycle maker puts on its race bikes because it gives riders better launch control, wheelie control, traction control and quick shift.
The 2012 RSV4 has additional changes such as engine and gearing component changes and an updated graphics package. It is a powerful beast driven by a 999c longitudinal 65-degree V-4 engine with dual overhead cams. Each cylinder boasts four valves. Aprilia says the bike gets 180 horsepower at 12,250 rpm. Considering that the Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC is the current 2012 World Superbike Championship leader, this horsepower claim is easy to believe. On the other hand, motorcycle insurance companies will surely be a bit wary of all of that horsepower, leading to elevated premiums.
