Triumph Motorcycles is to dip its toe into the touring waters with next year’s release of its 2013 Trophy SE. The bikes will begin rolling into showrooms in January.
The Trophy SE is a tech-heavy beast that will sport the same three-cylinder, shaft-driven, 1215cc powertrain that the Tiger Explorer uses. It is said to turn out 132 bhp at 8,900 rpm. To keep everything smooth as can be, the Trophy SE makes use of ride-by-wire technology, aerodynamic design and a counter-rotating balancer shaft.
Talking about this new bike, Triumph says in a release, “Great effort has been made to optimize weather and wind protection with aerodynamically enhanced fairings.” The bike maker says the price of the Trophy SE will be released this September.
