Zero Motorcycles Recalled

A recall alert has been issued for 315 2012 Zero S and 2012 Zero DS electric motorcycles. The alert was issued due to the motor encoder position signal that may shift position as the motorcycle is used. If the signal moves too far, the motor controller could shut off causing the motorcycle to lose power.

A sudden loss of power could of course lead to the driver losing control of the Zero.

Zero Motorcycles started contacting owners about the recall on September 24. The repair will be done free of charge at Zero dealers. More information can be had by contacting Zero Motorcycles at 1-888-786-9376 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4236.
