Italian MotoGP uber-star Valentino Rossi has been racing with a broken leg and injured shoulder in need of surgery. On Sunday’s race in Malaysia, he nevertheless came back from a lackluster start (falling to 8th) to achieve victory. His charge for the lead was the work of a true racing genius, and the Doctor’s determination was evident to all in attendance.
Rossi’s Yamaha teammate, Jorge Lorenzo, finished 3rd to clench the 2010 MotoGP championship, but it was Rossi who thrilled the crowd. The victory broke the Italian’s longest dry spell ever, having not won since the first race of the year: Qatar. It was his 46th win on a Ducati.
