Missouri Motorcycle Insurance Requirements
As in most states, riding without the minimum liability insurance in Missouri is against the law. You must have motorcycle insurance.
Minimum Insurance Requirements
- $25,000: bodily injury liability maximum for one person injured in an accident
- $50,000: bodily injury liability maximum for all injuries in one accident
- $10,000: property-damage liability maximum for one accident
Missouri Helmet Laws
In Missouri, helmets are mandatory for all riders. Many people are now riding scooters or mopeds for the fuel economy, and ask us whether there are helmet exceptions for these vehicles. We recommend everyone to wear a helmet no matter what kind of two-wheeler they ride. That said, the Missouri DMW only covers cycles that are greater than 50cc in displacement, have greater than 3 horsepower, and can attain speeds in excess of 30 mph.
